Finally, finally! Lincoln has his first loose tooth. He has been so eager ever since his friend lost one while they were still 4. We noticed his adult tooth coming in behind this one a month ago and it's now finally loose. He's so excited: "Mom! I can't eat popcorn with a loose tooth, right?" and "Mom! Remember my loose tooth so I can't have apples." Who knew there was so much planning involved?
Note to Aunt Jenny....you have to find him a tooth box like you got for Malcolm years ago. Well, maybe you got it for me but it somehow became Malcolm's. Guess who needs one that matches? Actually, Malcolm just announced that he needs another one since his is full, but I'm thinking after 8 we just start throwing out the little treasures?
Moving on....on Monday I was working lunch and saw from a distance a 3rd grade boy take quite a tumble. I couldn't tell what caused it, several kids were running, but it was such a fall that I immediately headed over to this kid. He was crying and his hands were scraped up, but he waffled about going to the nurse. I moved his arm and he said it hurt a little, but it seemed like he was more embarrassed about the crowd gathering than anything else. After a few minutes, he was still sniffling a little bit (unusual since this is a "tough" kid) so I took him to the nurse, figuring he was shaken up from such a dramatic fall. Of course he shows up Tuesday with a bright green cast covering his broken wrist. Ouch. It turns out the power I get from the vest does not give me xray vision. =)
And finally, yesterday I got around to getting new coats for the boys. I know it's mid November, but come on! Last week we had two 70 degree days. Lincoln was with me and immediately latched onto a coat with a hood. There are velcro attachments so when the hood is on, you can close it up so it covers his mouth and nose. He wouldn't try on any coats that didn't have this little feature, so that was the one we got. He's been so funny ever since. He wore the coat to the register and out of the store (of course he refused to wear his jacket into the store!) and he kept it on in the car. This morning he was very eager to wear his new coat to school and before he could even zip it, he had the velcro closed and his mouth covered. On the way to the bus he told me repeatedly how he was so toasty warm. Who knew he's been so chilled lately? Funny what a little velcro can do for you!
